Testimonials for Rod Mattson and Mattson Communication Training

I enjoyed attending the Mattson Communication Job Seeker seminar. Mr. Mattson delivered the content in a well-planned, organized and easy-to-understand format. Good references, ideas and reinforcement of ways to be more creative in the job search.

Personal attention, answers to specific questions and advice from his real-world experience was very valuable. Definitely worth the time investment to prepare oneself for a more-effective job search.

I found Mr. Mattson helpful, engaging, encouraging, smart, patient, funny, fun, and a good communicator.

I recently attended Rod Mattson’s “Job Seeker Seminar” and I can say, without a doubt, that I have never been to a more practical training session nor received better job hunting advice. Sure, I've gone to tons of talks and I’ve received lots of professional training over the years, but the difference is Rod’s rare combination of expertise, communication style and compassion for his audience. His “been there, done that” credibility speaks volumes and I felt right away that Rod was pulling for me.

Many of us can be at our most vulnerable when we are job hunting. There are many factors working against us, not the least of which are the online technologies that supply one opportunity after another to click and apply while in our pajamas. Often, if we don’t get results, we may look inward and beat ourselves up for not having what it takes, when we would be better served to look outward, understand how hiring actually works (especially these days), and learn how to better market ourselves.

In two hours, and for a price you won’t believe, Rod gave me, and will give you, the reality check and tools needed to vastly improve your job search and he’s going to make you feel much better about yourself, too! Don’t keep doing the same things and expecting a different result. Give yourself the best odds of getting the job you want – sooner rather than later.

I found the Job Seeker Seminar a great value.

I took a college communications course from Rod several years ago and we have remained friends to this day. He has a relaxed, yet professional teaching style that is easy to follow and makes learning a lot of fun. When I was preparing to test for a promotional exam at work he took the time to help me prepare for the verbal portion of the testing process. Because of Rod, I came out on top in that area and am ready for any other interviews that might come my way in the future.

I have been asked to be the opening and/or guest speaker at several events since taking Rod’s class. I know that I am much more interesting and engaging, let alone full of confidence and I have him to thank for that.

The Fundamentals of Oral Communication: not a class I would have chosen for myself, but it was required for my degree. The title alone lends to nothing exciting for me. Much to my pleasant surprise, anything boring about this class was left in it's name.

From the very first day it was quite obvious that Mr. Mattson has a complete and confident grasp on his subject matter and is truly passionate about it. That passion is infectious in the classroom and causes an eagerness in the students to gain even the smallest portion of the knowledge that creates his confidence in presenting, persuading, interviewing and communication in general.

I have always considered myself a well-presented, well-prepared interviewee. After attending his class, I am much more prepared with the skills necessary to reach for much more rewarding opportunities with confidence.

The course work is kept well balanced, interesting, exciting and rewarding. I did not want the class to end, like a great book you don't want to put down.

Rod Mattson transcends what is often the humdrum of classroom lecturing and lifts it up to something at once fun and challenging.

I took his “234 / Group Leadership” class this Fall and much enjoyed it, mainly because Mr. Mattson is a connective professor, indeed a rare quality. He takes the time to really listen; and to work with students individually as well as in a group. He will never rush out at the close of the hour if there are questions that students have.

Mr. Mattson’s teaching style strikes a good balance between the “nuts & bolts” of the subject and the fun of discovery. He has a great sense of humor and is supportive over critical. He seems to have a breadth of knowledge of the current culture and events, and this helps translate into learning.

I believe that his skills and expertise would go a long way toward helping a new student to develop their communication skills. I observed as he easily transformed a class of of strangers into people enjoying the hard work of being immersed in group projects.

I am a 56-year-old returning student with many years of experience behind me, so I have come to expect a lot. I come from a time when both instructors and students were much more closely connected in a campus setting. This is a still of great value: the building of Relationship. I feel that upon this foundation is where the most effective illumination and insight can take place. Rod facilitates crossing that bridge, where students can be inspired to the fullest. His class is one aspect that made it quite worthwhile to return to studies again.

I only hope that your program will have the opportunity to be gifted with Mr. Mattson’s humanity and experience.

Rod is an awesome teacher! I’ve had him as an instructor at Green River Community Collage and I also went to a seminar he taught on job-hunting after I earned my degree in Accounting. He is extremely knowledgeable and gifted in communication and communication skills and was a fantastic help in resume writing and job-search techniques. His thoughts and ideas helped me to search for a job in many different ways. His 2-hour seminar was well worth taking! Thanks a bunch, Rod.

Rod Mattson is a wonderful teacher in the field of communications. I was very scared to take a communications class because public speaking was involved however Mr. Mattson made it easy to over come that fear. In the summer of 2008 I took Comm. 100 and 101, both great.

His teaching style is very good, he provides extra information if needed and he explains homework such as writing speeches that is easy to follow and understand.

I highly recommend Rod Mattson, he is a great teacher who goes above and beyond to help his students in more than just school, he provides helpful tips for life.

Rod Mattson is easily a leader in communication skills and training. Rod has ways of teaching communication skills that others just can learn or replicate. It is his natural field of work passes along will help anyone and everyone in all areas that we sometimes fall short in, such as, public speaking, interpersonal communication, resumes, interviews, and the paths to success in all speaking areas of our lives.

Thanks Rod for giving me the key to create the confident person I am today.
